I was shocked to see how different the toilets are in Japan…plus they are
all always clean, no odor...
I even leave some toilets without using because I couldn’t figure out where
the flush is. Then I developed the reflex of identifying the flush button or lever
first thing.
Nowadays I don’t even need to do that...
Yes, I got used to the Japanese toilets and know how to use even if there
are some different options…
And also because there are so many new and helpful instructions…
There are 2 major things in toilets in Japan…
One is the high tech western style toilets with seat heating… bidet options,
flushing sound for privacy….
The other one is an old school Japanese style toilet where you squat to
use the toilet.
I have to say both of them have their own positive aspects…
The Japanese toilet is different
and quite a new experience for me. What I
noticed is though sometimes Japanese women wait in line to use a western style toilet
even the Japanese style toilet is available...Since I don’t mind using the Japanese style toilet, but I do mind waiting in line for long … I just
ask if it is available.
Many time I saw many shocked native faces when a foreigner is okay to use
the Japanese style toilet…
And there is also the high tech western style toilets…
If you really enjoy you can even buy the toilet seats to bring back home.
I am planning to buy that when/if I leave Japan.
Toilets are also small things that make a huge difference in life,
thanks to Japanese improvements on Western style toilet seats many people are happy….
Cheers,
