Happy Earth Day Festival

Tokyo is full of festivals and parades… so many themes and so many thing s to do that you will never feel bored.

Last weekend the festival on Yoyogi Park has more meaning… it was Earth Day festival, with all nature friendly products and information  that we all have to save earth and keep things natural.…
There are cotton based nature friendly products to buy…

Natural stage that plays soft calming music…
.
Many fun things for kids to understand the nature and earth.
There was  a booth on that kids can bike to light up a lamped tree, to give information about nature friendly energy…
The plan for the festival to produce the little waste as possible. There was special booths that you can bring back your leftovers,  wash the plates and everything. You even give your bento box to the food vendors and they give you back with the food you requested….
I didn’t have any expectations about the festival, it could have been just a reason to have a festival but everyone in the festival cares about the Earth, and they brought their kids so they also learn to care about the earth too…
We all love the earth and  have sent  good vibes to the universe….

How much space do you need?

Life in Tokyo is packed, the trains are full, the shops are full, you have to wait in line from time to time just to go to a restaurant.

And the living spaces are smaller than we are  used to have.
It is one of the biggest issues that foreigners face.

I  also faced this dilemma I thought that my place, when I had before  moving  to Japan.   was  so small. I was deadly wrong .  Now I have accustomed to my place in Tokyo, benefited every single square feet I  have had, and never wasted  any space. My first wave of change started with not wasting any space. And even if, the places are  so small, they are  functional and always with deep closets that can serve  much more than a closet .  I even thought  that some of them can be a small baby section in main room. It is that big.

Then comes the second wave…The part that  I questioned what I need,  what I have , and what I want. ….
And also used KonMAri method …

It was a life changing wave. Right now, I live in a smaller space, again there is a good multipurpose  closet. And I think the space is well designed and sufficient.  And, to be honest, I think it is enough. I have all I need, it is not stufffed.

These experiences that I have in Japan made me understand the value of space and the right use of space.
I am now in the third wave to make my space more zen and peaceful. I feel like this style became part of me.

Kappabashi Dori

The special cuisine of Japan is a taste that I want to have some at home too…
So I need to learn how  to cook Japanese dishes..
I need Japanese ingredients.
And I need utensils…
In Asakusa, walking distance from the famous Sensoji Temple there is a long street just for utensils and more than you can imagine….
Kappabashi Dori also appears in the tourist guide lists but I didn’t imagine how fun and special that street might be.
There are bowls…. And chopsticks …  teapots….
Matcha making sets…knives ….
Baking, cooking…

Even shops that supply restaurants…  It is my go to kitchen supplies place. I bought things for myself and also for my friends and family as gifts. It is considerable budget friendly compared to tourist targeted shops.

I had the most fun walking from shop to shop….
The most fun shops are making plastic sample foods to be displayed in front of the restaurants according to their menu.

There are plastic sushi plastic pizza all kinds…  And there are workshops for you to make your own plastic sample….
Unexpected and unlimited fun while buying kitchen utensils in Kappabashi Dori…
